ARLINGTON TRIP!

We just got back home after spending the day with Casey and Callie!



The afternoon started with a tour of their workplaces in Las Colinas... It is really weird, Callie had her job first with an accounting firm and Casey started a couple of months later with General Motors and each of their offices are only a couple of blocks apart...







Then it was off to the mall in Arlington, where we celebrated David and I 's 26Th with the kids at Cheesecake Factory... YUMMO!!! Then we hit the mall to do some Christmas Shopping... knocked a few off the list...



They wanted us to spend the night, however David wanted to get back so that we could get up in the morning and work on the house... Well, better head to bed will be getting up in a few hours...

A DAY TO BE THANKFUL!

As this Thanksgiving draws to a close, I choose to reflect on all the good things in my life and not dwell on the disappointments of what could be better or with family and friends that have hurt me.

Without all of the battle scars that have lead me up to this time in my life, I believe, I could not enjoy, nor be thankful for all the good things, that God has blessed me with. My health, my 26 years of marriage as of today ( with all the rocky times too),my wonderful Son,who I adore! all my friends, present and most especially those I have recently reconnected with.

The kids are headed back to Arlington, the house is once more quite... Now it is back to work and prepping for MY FAVORITE HOLIDAYS OF THEM ALL....... CHRISTMAS!!!

My only wish from this time on, is to continue filling my life with as much happier times than sad, living up to my fullest potential, and just enjoying the road that God has laid out for me!

I hope all that reads my blog today, knows that I am thankful to know you and have you in my life, and also know that, without you being a part of my life, I would not be the person I am today..

I love each of you and hope to continue to be a part of your lives for a very long time to come! God Bless...

THE FAMILY BACK UNDER ONE ROOF!

Today has been great, the kids along with Callie's Mom, came home around 7:00 pm tonight... we ate Lasagna, salad and garlic bread... Callie brought a homemade chocolate cake... I so love when they are home with us... looking forward to spending all day tomorrow just kicking back and catching up...

They will be leaving to head back to Arlington tomorrow evening, to do some day after Thanksgiving shopping, and then we might go up Friday night after work to spend the weekend with them.

Tomorrow, it is over to the in laws to eat a feast and visit! I am one happy Mom tonight!!
Well, off to bed to get a good nights rest... more tomorrow!

IT'S SUPPER TIME!

Here it is a little after 11 pm, and we are getting supper together... started cleaning up the dogs at 6:30 and just now finished! they are clean and feisty!!!

Hopefully, I will get off work early tomorrow and then it is rush rush rush... getting the house cleaned up and supper on the table by 8:00 as that is when the kids will be arriving, then it is a night full of catching up and then up early Thanksgiving and eat! eat! eat!

I will check back in tomorrow night, I am grabbing a quick bite and off to see the sandman.

4 hours, what was I thinking??

This will be short and sweet tonight, for as I stayed up until 1:30 this morning watching movies... could not sleep to save my life, well, I paid for it today... my eyes are closing faster than I can blink haha!

I still have so much to do before the kids arrive Wednesday... so, I am off to bed in a few and try to recharge my batteries...

I still am feeling a little sick, I sure hope I am not coming down with Strep or the Flu as I feel achy, my throat is starting to hurt and my neck is stiff... have not got time for that... :)
I have got to make my grocery list out sometime tomorrow, get home and bathe the dogs and start detailing the house...

Hopefully, I can leave work on Wednesday somewhat earlier, so that I can get home and put on the finishing touches..

With that note, I will sign off now or I am going to fall asleep in this chair...

The race begins

As another weekend flies by, the week will be a rush!! I have a lot to accomplish in a few short days before the kids come home along with Callie's Mom. This will be her first holiday with the local loco's... haha...

Let's just say my family tree is full of nuts, always has been I just did not noticed as much until I got married and looked from the outside in, however, that is a story within itself...

Can't believe David and I will be married 26 years this Thursday either, it is so weird, did not think about getting married in November, that our anniversary at times would fall on Thanksgiving...

My list for the next few days includes bathing Grayce and Maggie (our 4 legged kids) hanging a few things on the walls that have been laying around for a lllloooonnnnggg time, and my house needs a detailing... whew, I am just tired thinking about it... I am not feeling the hottest right now, hope I am not coming down with something , way too much to do... I just hope that it passes over the next day or so.

I love this time of year, it just makes me long for the Norman Rockwall family I guess... my dream consist of winning the lotto and moving to some place like the home on funny farm, or Baby Boomers... LOL and having a house full of family and good friends to share milestones with... instead at times, I am living life with the Beverly Hillbillies, without the riches of course.. HAHAHA... Until then, it is live in Jonesville! :)

This weekend was uneventful... David did get the baseboards and carpet up in Casey's old room, a new closet to follow I hope.

I really need to get in the mood of putting Christmas all together, I am stroking a little, as the house is not put together as I would have hoped by this time... but I will just have to make it happen somehow...

I hope to take a lot of pics this year, and have them posted along the way. I guess my hormones are getting the best of me right now, as my feelings are all over the place! Will be glad when all of that stuff settles down...

Guess I will close for now, need to get my bath and settle down for the night, Monday morning will be here soon enough...

Well, at least the beer chili was good!

What happened???? I just want to know where did the Red Raiders go to play ball, sure was not Oklahoma!!!

The chili was good, David got the rope lights hung up around the game room, loving it!!! I am headed to bed, can not stand anymore disappointment for the night will sign back on and do a hallelujah dance, if we pull the mircle of the century off... Friday is finally here!!

HERE is the best part of my work week!! the weekends are great!
Just got home a bit ago from my scrapbook workshop. We completed three 12x12 two page Christmas layouts, I will try and post pic's still new at that one... had a great time with my best friend Traci... she is the one that got me hooked on it...

Going to get up in the morning and start my day off with a few cups of coffee, then it is house chores, then hopefully we will do some work on the house... Then, we are sitting back to watch Texas Tech stomp OU ( We hope)... it would be great to remain undefeated and go on to the championship... keep your fingers crossed for us...

Thinking about making homemade beer chili for the event... snacking and just cheering our Red Raiders to victory!!

Well, it is off to bed, been a long week and still not feeling all that hot! More tomorrow...

The day that did not happen!

Well, I should have known when getting up this morning, this day would stink!!

Let me start with a little back ground... about six months ago my periods stopped, knew I could not be pregnant, since David was fixed years ago... well, went to my Doctor yep, in Menopause so she tells me if I can go a year than it is over.... well, aunt flo came and brought a hurricane with her.... I am suffering.... was not missing that stuff AT ALL... after coming to terms and many of tears over the fact the baby making was not a possibility anymore... here we go again... YUCK!!

To top off that, my computer that was sent to me is a freaking laptop... I can not function keying in reports with a mountain of numbers without my 10 key on my computer....

BUT the big TA DA, we did not get to go to Roadhouse today!!!!!!! too many people were not able to make it, so we will have to reschedule... I AM IN HELL I TELL YOU!!

Hormones, hate them... LOL All I can say is, THANK GOD TOMORROW IS FRIDAY!!!!
Aunt flo better be gone on the 27th... had anniversary plans... dang it....

At least my scrapbook workshop is on for tomorrow night, that always makes me happy...

Well, better close for now, got my shower and ready to eat a bite and go to bed extra early tonight with a heating pad.

Mid week is here!

It is getting late, I am sleepy, but I am so addicted to blogging now, thanks Karla... :) I find myself not being able to wait for the end of the day to share... Not too much went on today... work went like any other day, excited about tomorrow.. going to Roadhouse, will make the day worth while!!! I love that place...

Looking forward to the weekend... just got home from Wal-Mart with a few groceries went across the street to Lowe's and picked up our new door and lumber, to start framing in our new walk in closet... picked up my red rope lights for the game room shelves, stretched it out a bit ago, going to really give the room a cool effect...

Going to sit and pay a couple of bills, then grabbing a quick bite before bed... hope to have more to share tomorrow night for now...

The day after Monday!

Well, another day, another dollar... I am pooped!! getting ready to head off to visit the sandman.
Today was a busy one, but I get my computer back tomorrow!!!!! only down side, I have a ton of work to catch back up on.. oh well...

Got a few things to look forward to the rest of the week, Thursday after work, our VP of operations is taking the entire staff to Road House... can not wait.. love those Roadhouse Roadies... Friday is scrapbook night.. can't wait to see what pages we will be doing...

Saturday is the biggest game ever in football, Texas Tech v OU... we have to beat them!!!
Sunday it will be back to working on the house,as we get ready for Thanksgiving, can't wait until the kids come in from Arlington... I so miss Casey!!!
He called today to talk to Mom, filling me in on his week... love that boy!!

Had a looser moment today, got my new debit card in the mail, but instead of calling to have it activated, it said that I had to use the ATM to do so, so, I drove all the way to the bank and forgot my PIN number, looser moment # 1... went inside had that number changed, and was told that I could use it now, so had my nails done after work, looser moment #2... got ready to pay out and card declined, I wanted to crawl under the check out counter...

Told them I thought the card had be activated, yea right, I bet they were thinking... hahaha
Anywho's they normally do not accept checks however, since I have been going there for the past 5 years, they let me.... I was so embarrassed.... LOOSER !!! LOL...
Guess I will have to go back to the stupid bank and try it again tomorrow...


Nearly hit a raccoon on the way home, that is the only downfall of it getting dark early now, I swirled and missed him however, I am also afraid of wrecking out... Pray allot on that one...

Well, better sign off for now, 5 AM comes way too early...

One day down, 4 more till the weekend...

This is going to be a short thought for today... As I am draggggggingggg ....



The weekend work took a lot out of me... I started today with 4 cups of coffee, and the day was a whirlwind Monday all day!!!



Monday's at work are always rough.. however, it has been more so, due to the fact I have been without a computer now for a week!!!

The entire office does not run without my computer, I will be so happy when I get it BACK!!!



On top of all that, I wore heels today (something that I always regret later).... My feets hurt so very badly...LOL

Good thing tomorrow is dress up Tuesday, it is wear black day, I am wearing black jeans, black tee shirt and black tennis shoes.... YES!!!



I had every intention in coming home tonight and piddle around the house, however, my body has told me otherwise.... therefore, I am off to get my shower and hit the bed earlier than norm...



Well, this will have to do for today, all I can say is that I am thankful for what I have, and most of all, glad this Monday is behind me...

What happened to the weekend???

As this weekend winds down I ask myself- Where did it go???


We are exhausted!!! did not get everything accomplished as I would have liked, however we made a dent in it...

The game room is taking shape now, all of my village houses, are a top my new shelves that surround our entire room... I am really loving how it is turning out! all I need to do now, is buy the rope lights to shade behind my coca cola items that are not lit...
Hopefully, we will be able to start hanging things on the walls soon, as well as blocking in my stain glass window and adding some more accessories.

We did accomplish what we started out wanting to do and that is moving our furniture into Casey's old room, and moving my scrapbook room out of his old bedroom, now we can start on our walk in closet.. I can smell fresh paint coming on soon!!

I am not liking all of the moving of things, but I keep telling myself it will all be worth it once I have the master suite I have always wanted...

Once the bedroom is finished, we can kick back and rest for a while, as we will need to save more money for the 2 remaining bathrooms and kitchen remodels... then my house will be the way we have always wanted it to be... YIPPEE! I just hope we will still be young enough to enjoy it... hahaha...


Well, better close up as I need to finish washing a couple more loads of laundry get a shower and try to rest up for what I know is going to be a busy Monday!!

First Post

I am new to this blogging world, but here goes!

It is a cold, windy Saturday here in Ben Wheeler, this is my favorite time of the year... I love the changing of the colors around me... I have Taco Soup cooking away in my crock pot, the house is smelling pretty good. Have laundry going and busy doing my Saturday duties...

We have been in the process of remodeling our home for the past few years... I will be happy when it is all done, so that we can just "come home" and sit back and take refuge! hahaha....

Today, we will be finishing with touch up painting in our game room and then I can start hanging all of my collectibles on the walls, I will post pic's soon... then we are moving to our bedroom, where we will move into Casey's new old bedroom as we are knocking down the walls between our bedroom and his old room, where we are taking most of it in as a walk in closet... then I can remove all traces of the 80's and move it into a relaxing room, with new paint and hopefully a new bedroom suite!!

Casey and Callie will be coming home soon for Thanksgiving.. Debbie, Callie's Mom will be spending the day with us as well over at the In-laws... I am so thankful that Casey has found what I believe will be the best Daughter I could have ever hoped for... and I love her Mother... and I am sure they will be a joy and blessed addition to our family ( Hopefully, soon) haha..

Christmas is upon us, MY FAVORITE SEASON OF THEM ALL!! As Casey would say that is when Santa "throws up" all over the house.LOL... I love decorating the house and starting the fireplace lets me know we are HOME!!
This year, I hope to get the front yard in on the act...

Well, guess I will close with that for now, as I need to clean house as David will be home by noon and the fun begins.... I will add more later..
